disAbility Connections currently works in collaboration with the Jackson Rotary Clubs to build residential ramps for children and adults with disabilities living in Jackson County.  We begin receiving applications for ramps on March 1st  of each year and build approximately 8 to 10 ramps from April through October.  disAbility Connections, Inc. secures the funding for materials and the Rotary clubs provide the volunteers to design and then build the ramp at the individual's residence.  All ramps are built to ADA specifications.  Approved applicants will be required to pay a 25% co-pay on ramp materials upon completion of their ramp.

Criteria required for approval of a ramp application are as follows:

1.  A doctor's prescription or medical statement of disability.  Prescription must read "ramp" and must provide a written diagnosis for the need.

2.If you are renting a property you must have a long term lease or a history of long term  occupancy and written approval from the landowner.  If you are the property owner, you must have proof of home ownership. (copy of tax bill, deed or mortgage, etc.)
