JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:  Operations Director

           

SUPERVISOR:  Executive Director

GENERAL SUMMARY

Ensure the performance, integrity and security of the agency database.  Gather, organize and prepare data for grant reporting. Coordinate and supervise continuous quality improvement.  Provide implementation and oversight for the durable medical equipment program, Fix-dis, Residential Ramp program and assigned staff. Perform internal financial check activities.  Assist with fundraising activities. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication as well as good computer skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRMENTS:

  • 1.      Education and training required:  Prefer Bachelor’s degree.  Personal experience with disability and/or knowledge of disability issues and the consumer/community-based independent living philosophy preferred.  Must also possess excellent organizational skills, communication skills and computer skills. Must be analytical and detail oriented.
  1. Work experience required:    Experience with management, leadership and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively and use judgment and discretion in decision-making.  Must have experience with database management and reporting.  Must have a commitment to and ability for continuous improvement and mastery of the relevant body of knowledge related to this position. Familiarity with durable medical equipment and familiarity with Jackson, Hillsdale and Lenawee County community resources preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide oversight and day-to-day supervision of facility operations, durable medical equipment (DME)/Loan Closet support, respite, Fix-dis, assigned staff and volunteers, including attendance, performance and day-to-day function.  Facilities operations includes maintaining contracts for services necessary for property upkeep and operation as well as responding to emergent facility situations.
  • Ensure the performance, integrity and security of the organization’s database.  Continue to learn the agency database and understand systems reporting in an up to date manner.
  • Coordinate and supervise the organization’s quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate, effective management of all aspects of the residential ramp building project.
  • Determine client eligibility regarding request for resources and financial assistance.
  • Represent disAbility Connections at community meetings to gather and provide current community resources. 
  • Coordinate all aspects of disAbility Connections’ loan closet program, including but not limited to, acquisition of donated equipment, assessing and securing durable medical equipment for clients, identification of alternative funding resources to purchase equipment,  follow up support as needed and adherence to internal billing procedures.
  • Assist with fundraising activities including mailings and program events.
  • Travel required within the regional service area of disAbility Connections.
  • Provide needed reports to Executive Director and maintain an informative relationship with director.
  • Work with the Services Director to vet data and provide outcomes and program needs to Executive Director.
  • Conduct facilities contract activities and reporting as necessary.
  • Perform internal financial check activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage service files and files storage
  • Review all timesheets for all employees.

  • ·         Articulates the disAbility Connections, Inc. mission, IL goals and accurately describes its program services and outcomes.
  • ·         Models integrity, personal and professional ethics and maintains confidential consumer information in adherence to applicable HIPAA guidelines.
  • ·         Maintains a neat and orderly office.
  • ·         Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, and follow through as required for the effective delivery of disAbility Connections services.
  • ·          Meets outcomes listed in the Fiscal Year Work Plan as outlined in the disAbility Connections Performance Evaluation.
  • Evaluates staff performance and make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding promotions, salary and training needs.

  • Complete Motivational Interviewing Training

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in office conditions and occasional travel in the communities we serve (Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties) to attend meetings, conduct workshops and other activities related to disAbility Connections, Inc. mission.

This is an exempt; full time position at 40 hours per week.  This means the position may require more than 40 hours per work at times.

Pay range:  $55, 000 to $60,000 based on experience and skills.
